Main Responsibilities

1. Technical Writing & Structured Documentation
  • Deconstruct dense technical, scientific, or regulatory information into clear, concise, and actionable content for diverse audiences (e.g., policymakers, industry professionals, and the public).
  • Develop comprehensive technical assets, including white papers, system explainers, technical SOPs, API documentation, user manuals, and policy briefs.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including white papers, technical reports, SOPs, user guides, policy briefs, process documentation, manuals, and explanatory notes.
  • Organize technical content in a logical, structured, and consistent manner to improve readability, accessibility, and ease of reference.
  • Maintain consistency in technical terminology, language, and writing style across all communication materials by developing and updating internal writing standards and glossaries.
2. Digital Data Literacy & Analytical Content Development
  • Gather technical, operational, regulatory, and policy-related information from Pakistan Customs formations and subject matter experts to develop accurate and informative content, interpreting reports, enforcement data, trade statistics, and research findings.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers to develop process diagrams, flowcharts, infographics, and other visual content that simplifies complex technical information.
  • Use analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush, or heatmap software) to audit existing content, identify information gaps, and recommend updates based on user search behavior and engagement metrics.
3. Advanced Writing & Editorial Excellence
  • Produce a wide range of technical content formats — long-form research reports and case studies, short-form FAQs and knowledgebase articles, and scripting for reels, videos, or webinars.
  • Perform rigorous copyediting and developmental editing to ensure clarity, logical flow, and grammatical precision, verifying technical citations and data points against source documents.
  • Adapt writing style to suit different platforms and audience personas—from highly formal regulatory submissions to accessible public awareness materials.
4. Digital Publishing & Knowledge Management
  • Publish and maintain content within CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Drupal), ensuring proper categorization, tagging, and formatting for optimal user experience.
  • Apply advanced on-page SEO techniques—including keyword clustering, topic modeling, and internal linking strategies tailored to improve visibility for niche technical queries.
  • Regularly update and repurpose legacy technical content to ensure relevance, accuracy, and alignment with current digital best practices.
5. Collaboration, Campaigns & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Lead structured interviews and working sessions with technical teams (engineers, data scientists, legal advisors, and policy experts) to extract tacit knowledge and validate technical accuracy.
  • Work closely with graphic designers, videographers, and UI/UX teams to ensure visual elements complement and enhance written technical content.
  • Contribute to campaign planning by recommending technical content formats, messaging angles, and distribution strategies for specialized audiences.
  • Manage complex review cycles involving multiple approvers (legal, compliance, technical leads), consolidating conflicting feedback while preserving content integrity.
6. Analytics & Continuous Improvement
  • Track and analyze KPIs such as engagement rates, dwell time, click-through rates, bounce rates, and search rankings for technical content.
  • Stay updated on emerging digital media trends, platform algorithm changes, SEO evolutions, and shifts in audience content consumption behaviors.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills
  • A bachelor's degree in IT Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Media Studies, or a related field from an HEC-recognized or international university.
  • A master's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Data Analytics, Public Policy, Digital Media) will be considered an added advantage.
  • 4–5 years of relevant experience in technical writing, technical content development, digital documentation, knowledge management, or information architecture.
  • Must provide a portfolio demonstrating the ability to document complex systems, processes, data reports, or regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience in regulatory communication, public sector documentation, development sector reporting, trade, or policy-related content is a strong advantage.
